Our center is spent December engaged in a literacy focus with three engaging winter stories. The Snowy Day introduced gentle snowy adventures that helped students talk about weather and outdoor play. Bear Stays Up for Christmas showed caring friendships that encouraged students to listen closely to character actions. The Latke Who Couldn't Stop Screaming added lively storytelling with strong rhythms that kept students engaged.
Teachers created simple moments of discovery as they read with the children. They used expressive voices and steady pacing to help the stories come alive. Students pointed out story details, name familiar objects, and practice new vocabulary. The reading time supports early literacy growth in a natural and enjoyable setting.
