At A Child’s Life, October is all about stories that bring us together. This month, we’re reading:

- Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper

- The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything by Linda Williams

- We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger

Each book opens the door to laughter, learning, and exploration. Pumpkin Soup reminds us how important it is to share and work as a team. The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything makes the children giggle while practicing memory and sequencing. And We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt encourages us to enjoy the beauty of fall.

Our teaching team is weaving these stories into classroom activities and everyday moments. Whether through conversation, play, or time spent outdoors, the children are finding new ways to connect with the characters and ideas in each story.

We love watching the joy on their faces as they recognize words, recall storylines, and share their favorite parts. These moments are about more than reading - they’re about building confidence, creativity, and a love of learning that will grow with them.
